BioMom

The other day my Mr6 spent the afternoon with his BioMom. BioMom is very young, inept and ill-prepared for life, let alone motherhood. Lest you think I am harsh, I am not. I speak the sad truth.
Anyways, she had to go to the market, and she took her Mr6 with her. She doesn't drive, so it was a long walk to and from the market.
When she returned home with Mr6, she announced she will need to buy him an iPod because he cannot walk without listening to some kind of music.

      I just gaze at her.

To make a long story short, it turns out she can't be bothered with having any prolonged conversation with her own son. She prefers to pacify her son with an iPod so she can yap mindlessly on her Blackberry.
I know.
I've seen this in action since the day her son was born.
I no longer feel sorry for Mr6. He gets PLENTY of opportunities for dialogue when he's with me (which is most of the time). Instead, I feel sorry for his BioMom. All of this will one day come back to haunt her.
I'm not sure how, but it will.

Re-Gifting faux pas

I love my sister-in-law. We always have fun.
This past Christmas she gave me a number of gifts, all beautifully packaged.
I smelled a rat.
You see, she has been really short on money this past year, and I was surprised by these generous gifts.
I confided to my Hubby that I suspect his sister was Re-Gifting.
Hubby just rolled his eyes and kind of made a snorting sound.
I really don't care. The economy has been tough on her. She works part-time as a clerk in a health clinic, and she knows many patients there.
So here is one of the gifts my dear SIL gave me:
Exhibit A

I love these plush blue gloves, and as I attempted to don the said gloves, I discover THIS! Fifty dollars carefully rolled into each finger!
Exhibit B

When I returned the money to my dear SIL, we both just laughed and laughed and laughed.
But I kept the gloves. Every time I wear them, I just laugh a little bit more.

Snot machine

My poor Mr6 gets the worst congestion.
Every winter the boy coughs and sneezes like nobody's business.
Just yesterday, as we were sitting in very close proximity (he was on my lap), he SNEEZED the mother-of-all-sneezes and sprays me with a VERY generous dose of bright green mucus.
                                             .

White Christmas. Are you kidding?

Before you start to get all glassy-eyed and nostalgic for a White Christmas here in the Mid-Atlantic region, just SHUT UP. Are you out of your mind? This is what we had LAST Christmas in 2010.
