I'm just a city girl, and my garden is the size of a postage stamp. Last summer my garden produced a bumper crop: two succulent tomatoes. Yep. Two. It was tremendous.

Everybody in the world knows what the Taj Majal looks like...from the front.

But here you see a different VIEW of the same magnificent monument.

This is a view of the Taj from behind, at a distance.

Theme Thursday/Change

Happy new year everybody. A fair wind is blowing, and CHANGE is in the air.
My change is the all-too-typical Exercise and Diet Regime. 
Let's keep this simple:
I'm getting back into long-distance running (I lost focus and stopped running in 2008 after a shoulder surgery). As a matter of fact, I've just resumed running on Christmas day. I'm very very excited!
The other change is my determination to adapt a life-long diet to lower my cholesterol and to fend-off diabetes (I've been diagnosed with pre-diabetes). 
Change is not easy, but change is good.

Theme Thursday/The Future

The future? MY future.

God willing, I will retire June 2014 with hopefully all my marbles intact.

As a Retiree, I plan to travel.

All my life I’ve had the good fortune of traveling around the world.

I’ve felt guilty and embarrassed because my only desire is to, well, travel!
Now I see the folly if not the sheer absurdity in my feelings of guilt. 

Hey, I've worked hard and honorably as an educator. 

When I retire, I will do as I damn well please.

My short list of destinations:

Paris, France

Iceland

Tibet

Vietnam

Malaysia

Ireland and England
The Grand Canyon

The cool thing about traveling as a Retiree is I can travel off-season when it’s cheaper and it's not as crowded.
